Horse Shows

Hy Court is pleased to bring to Texas a new horse show format with the introduction of Sport Horse Versatility and Stock Horse Versatility, divisions of Refined Horse Versatility. Since its conception in 2007, Versatility has become a very popular new sport for professional and amateur equestrians. In its design to meet the mental well-being and biomechanical correctness of the horse, Refined Horse Versatility offers structured and positive challenges to competitors. In-Hand Versatility classes are offered in two levels, for all horses and allows competitors to develop their in-hand skills and gain experience on the versatility obstacles before the under-saddle classes. Suitability for Versatility classes are the starting point for developing Versatility horses, with a walk/trot under-saddle class as the Refined Riding Phase and a simplified Obstacle Phase.  Suitability classes are offered in both Sport Horse and Stock Horse divisions. Working Dressage Classes are now available in three levels to better suit the progressive development of the horse.  Hy Court also offers three levels of Working Hunter , from cross rails up to 2’6” in the Obstacle Phase with a corresponding Prix Caprilli test for the Refined Riding Phase.  New for Fall 2011, Working Western Classes, a section of Stock Horse Versatility, offer three levels of Versatility for the western horse.  Specificatons are similar to Working Dressage, including Obstacle Phase requirements and Refined Riding tests. More information about all of the Versatility classes is available on the Versatility page.

In addition to the Versatility classes, Hy Court offers USDF Dressage from Intro through 4th level, Western Dressage from Intro through 4th level, as well as Prix Caprilli. Our 20m x 60m covered arena is a supportive venue to expose your horse to new surroundings or school your competition horse in preparation for rated shows.

The 2008-2010 show seasons were very well attended at Hy Court Farm. Our shows have been created to reward good horsemanship and sportsmanship in a fun, safe, nurturing environment. Our shows are ideal for the young horse and for riders gaining their first show experience.

Our food and beverage concessionaire offers wonderful breakfast, delicious lunches and refreshments throughout the day. Local artists, books vendors, lots of shady sitting areas, day pens, ample schooling space and trailer parking all ad up to make Hy Court a wonderful place to show!  More information about the show grounds is available on our Facilities page.

We hope you will join us soon!  Here is what some of our past exhibitors have said:

“It is such a great service to the horse community--to have a show that is well organized, nearby, and doesn't cost a fortune yet has serious competition and serious judging.” Dr. Cynthia Spanhel-Blue Fire Moon Farm

"We wanted to say again how impressed we are with your team and the farm and the wonderful Fall Series schooling Shows. Everyone, staff and participants alike, were kind and nice to be around.  There could not have been an easier, lower stress introduction into showing for Grace (and her new to the show world parents).  Thanks!"
Robin, Jack and Grace Holt
